William "Bill" Vander Minden, age 86, passed away May 12, 2025, at his home in Boulder, Colorado. His memory lives on with his daughter, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, his sister, and two nephews.

He was born and raised in Uniondale, New York, on Long Island. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He subsequently earned a master's degree in electrical engineering as well.

In 1962, he was in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His long career in electrical engineering with Western Electric took him and his family to New Jersey, Kwajalein Island in the South Pacific, North Carolina, Illinois, and Boulder, Colorado, where he lived since 1978. Early retirement in 1993 gave him the flexibility to spend a year living in Sydney, Australia.

His interests included competitive marksmanship in high school and the Army, playing lacrosse in college, hiking in Colorado, traveling, astronomy, and, later in life, square dancing, round dancing, and barbershop singing.

His Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 26, at 11 am to 12 noon at the Maple Grove Grange, 3130 Youngfield St, Wheat Ridge, CO 80215.
