The Rev. Deacon Donald V. Burt, 69, of Boulder, died on Friday, June 28, 2013. A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, 2425 Colorado Ave, Boulder. Don was born on September 10, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio to Harry Donald (H.D.) and Valley Virginia (Vernon) Burt. He attended Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Don married Barbara Campbell Burt on January 15, 1982 in Arvada, Colorado. They have been residents of Boulder since 1984. Don spent his career as a software engineer, last with CableLabs in Louisville. His hobbies included remote controlled aircraft, raising bees and electronics. Don was a former member of St. Ambrose Episcopal Church and a current member of St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, having served there as deacon since his ordination in 2009. Don is survived by his wife Barbara of Boulder, CO; sons H.P. Burt (Kelly) of Parker, CO and James D. Burt of Boulder, CO; daughters Laura Burt of Aurora, CO, Virginia Steffen (Justin) of Wiggins, CO and Hazel Valley Burt of Boulder, CO; brother Harry Burt of Cleveland, OH; sister Mary Graham (Ray) of Cleveland, OH; former wife Pam Burt of Aurora, CO; and six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boulder Outreach for Homeless Overflow, or to St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, or to Haiti. Please write any checks to St. Aidan's Episcopal Church and memo "Don Burt Memorial for BOHO" or "Don Burt Memorial for Church," or "Don Burt Memorial for Haiti."
