Roger L. Wagner, 75, of Boulder, CO, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 in Boulder. Roger was born July 29, 1937 in Alliance, OH to Donald C. and Edna (Henry) Wagner. He received music degrees in piano from Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music and SMU, and pursued a doctorate at CU Boulder. Roger married Olive West in 1967 in Denver, and they moved to Boulder in 1970. A devoted husband and loving father, Roger taught piano, and was church organist and pianist for Mountain View Methodist, Trinity Lutheran, and First Presbyterian. He accompanied soloists and ensembles including St. Cecelia Singers and Boulder Bach Festival. He is survived by his wife Olive; son Eric (Jessica), Longmont; daughter Laura (Scott), AK; grandchildren Benjamin, Nicholas, and Grace; and brother Charles, OH. He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Wisler.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 355 Ponca Pl., Boulder, CO 80303, on Sat., February 16, 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain View United Methodist Church, or National Aphasia Association, 350 Seventh Ave., Suite 902, New York, NY 10001.
