Kenneth Kehoe, 48, of Nederland, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship. Ken was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose vibrant spirit, integrity, and quirky sense of humor touched countless lives with a rippling effect.
Ken was born in Green Bay and was a lifelong Packer fan. After receiving a degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Arizona, Ken moved to Oklahoma, where he met the love of his life, Heather Lazrus. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, they then moved to Colorado to get married and to start their family.
By day, Ken was an Atmospheric Scientist at CIWRO at the University of Oklahoma. Beyond his professional life, Ken found immense joy in serving his community as a volunteer at the Nederland Fire Department, where he forged deep and lifelong friendships.
Ken was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He loved his wife, Heather, who passed in 2023, and their son, Forrest, more than anything. His unwavering devotion to Forrest was the guiding light in his life. His warmth, wit, and zest for life will also live on with his parents, Gerald and Janice Kehoe; his siblings, Kristina (Bill) Foudray and Julie (Bob) Gaulke; his nephews and nieces Brianna, Jordan, Etienne, Kayla, Kaellan, Everett, and Elias; his mother-in-law, Suzanne MacAulay; and numerous other family members and friends.
Ken's quirky and infectious sense of humor endeared him to numerous close friends, too many to count, and around the globe. Known for his legendary Halloween costumes like "The Most Interesting Man", he brought joy and laughter to every gathering.
An avid adventurer, Ken embraced the rugged beauty of Colorado through hiking, skiing, camping, road and mountain biking, and, most recently, kayaking. He and Heather explored the world, with trips to Aotearoa/New Zealand, Hawai'i, Norway, and many other places where Ken and Heather were thrilled to learn about diverse cultures.
Ken's memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30th, at the Nederland Fire Department, 650 W 4th St, Nederland, CO 80466, with a visitation from 10:30-11:30 AM, a Celebration of Life service between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM, and lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Nederland Fire Department in Ken's honor or towards Forrest's education fund, which can be found at the following links:
