Dorothy Rose Martin, 90, died Saturday April 20, 2013 at Sunrise at Flatirons in Broomfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 3300 Table Mesa Drive in Boulder. A reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will take place following the service at the Louisville City Cemetery, 2105 Empire Road in Louisville at 1:30 p.m.
Dorothy was born on Nov. 2, 1922 to William & Rose (Wally) Pinault in Omaha, NE. She attended St. Cecilia grade school and graduated from Cathedral High School in Omaha. Dorothy married John "Jack" Martin in 1942 in Omaha.
Dorothy was an accomplished musician, organist and pianist who throughout her career played for approximately 1100 weddings and 800 funerals; as she put it "I married more than I buried".
Dorothy is survived by sons William A. (Nancy) Martin, Louisville, CO and Joseph E. (Karen) Martin of Superior, CO; daughter Barbara Jean (David) Flaherty of Lafayette, CO; sister Mary E. (William) Walker of Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and her grandson, Michael Flaherty.
