Charles Bush

November 30, 1941 — December 18, 2017

Charles “Chuck” Bush, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away after a long and hard-fought battle with frontotemporal dementia with parkinsonism (FTD-P), and bladder cancer.

Chuck was a devoted father, a successful entrepreneur, and had a stellar love of life and laughter. He loved his family, playing Jeopardy, doing crossword puzzles, all sports, long nature walks, fitness, animals, dirty jokes, and talking about the weather. Anyone who met Chuck will tell you he was unforgettable, extremely competitive, and very fit. He had a charming and hilarious way about him and he never met a stranger he didn’t like. He raised 3 adoring daughters and was the president of CCS Supply, Inc., Denver’s largest supplier of concrete accessories, for 20 years.

Born in Windsor, New York, Chuck was the 6

th

of 7 children. He dearly loved his parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers, and all of their extended families.

As a wrestler at Cornell University, he was a Division I All-American in 1964. He was a lifelong volunteer to the sport and dedicated his time and expertise to many wrestling programs in the Denver Metropolitan area, and was the caretaker of the Bush Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Doris, his brothers James (Barb), Thomas (Donna) and William (Mary Lou), and his sister Evelyn. He is survived by his sister Beverly Dawn, brother Arthur Bush (Beverly), daughter Heather Bush Kuhn (ex-Son-in-Law Scott Kuhn), daughter Heidi Bush Ekrem (Greg Ekrem), daughter Holly Bush, adopted daughter Kathy Mihelic who was his guardian angel, confidante and loving caregiver in the last 18 months of his life, and 8 grandchildren – Dylan Bush, Charles Kuhn, Jr., Bayleigh Bush, Cameron Kuhn, Christian Kuhn, Annika Ekrem, Callae Bush and Elise Ekrem.

An open house in celebration of Chuck’s amazing life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 1 PM to 4 PM at Chautauqua Community House, Grand Assembly Room, 900 Baseline Road in Boulder, Colorado.  An additional memorial service will take place in the Binghamton, New York area in the Spring of 2018.
