Champion roofer, Blake Alan Buringa, passed away in Boulder, CO, on June 16, 2026. He was born to Richard William Klemmer and Joyce Marie Seewald on February 25, 1964, in Owatonna, MN. Blake graduated from Longmont High School, Longmont, CO.

His life involved roofing for different companies, ranging from B&M Roofing, Black Roofing, and Alaska Standard (his favorite), for over 45 years. Blake was a true leader in the Colorado roofing industry most of his life.

In 2002, Blake married Robin Black in Telluride, CO. They resided in Gold Hill at 8,000’ in the mountains above Boulder, CO, for 24 years

His family remembers his love and laughter. These will always remain in their hearts forever. This beautiful man was such a great dad and a sweetheart of a husband.

Blake loved fishing, music, reading musician biographies, and watching his favorite Muscle Shoals Music documentary. Blake and his brother Brian rebuilt the family home after the Fourmile Canyon Fire took it in 2010. Blake adored his family pets, saved the neighbor’s dog from a mountain lion’s mouth, and built beautiful birdhouses.

Blake is survived by his wife, Robin Black, Gold Hill, Boulder, CO, step-children Theodore Halsey Black III (Stephanie) of Wheatridge, CO, and Molly Ann Black of Boulder, CO. He is also survived by his four brothers, Brian Buringa, of Blackhawk, CO, Craig Klemmer (Beth) of Lafayette, CO, Brad Buringa, of Longmont, CO and John Buringa, of Basalt, CO. His beloved nieces and nephews include Clayton and Jenn Buringa, Clint and Kelly Buringa, Derek and Brandon Buringa.

A celebration of Blake’s life is scheduled for July 16, 2026, from 1-3 p.m. at the Gold Hill Inn, 401 Main Street, Boulder, CO 80302.
