Barbara Jane (Kirchner) Pringle, 92 of Boulder, died peacefully on Monday, August 19th in the presence of her family. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31st at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1680 Balsam Ave., Boulder, CO 80304 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, 3016 Kalmia, Boulder.
Barbara was born in Kenosha, WI on November 23rd, 1931, to the late Ernst and Martha (Hackbarth) Kirchner. She married the love of her life, Roy Edward Pringle on November 4, 1950, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bristol, WI. After growing up and farming in Bristol, WI for many years, she moved to Boulder with her young family in 1962 in hopes of getting better-specialized care for her daughter who suffered from epilepsy.
Barbara spent most of her life caring beautifully for her family. She worked as the Kitchen Administrator for Casey Junior High and was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) and a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church since 1962. In addition to spending time with her precious family, she enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, skiing, cheering on her beloved Colorado Buffalos football team, and traveling back to Wisconsin to spend time with extended family. Among her many talents, cooking, baking, and tying fishing flies were at the top of the list.
Barbara is survived by her sisters Alice Bailey (WI), and Mary Klacan (MN); brother, Lester (Maria) Kirchner (WI); two sons, David (Karen) Pringle of Breckenridge and Tom (Patti), of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Lynsey (Joe) Yokum, Shannon Pringle, Matthew Pringle, and Daniel (Lindsay) Pringle; four great-grandchildren Zackary and Emersyn Yokum, Jake (Rachel) Willis, and Wesley Pringle; along with three great-great grandchildren Octavia, Apollo, and Declan Willis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy Pringle, sister Doris Magwitz: three brothers, Richard, Glen & Allan Kirchner; son Kenneth and daughter Lois.
Barbara loved Jesus and lived her life anticipating the day she would see him face to face. She was deeply committed to her family and while we are sad that she is no longer with us, we are ecstatic for her to be home with Christ, whom she loved and served with her whole heart and life.
Barbara’s family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale for the many years of support and the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pringle Nature Center, 9800 County Hwy MB, Bristol, WI 53104 (www.pringlenc.org); Meals on Wheels of Boulder, 3701 Canfield St., Boulder, CO 80301 (www.mowboulder.org); or to the charity of your choice.
