Barbara Bowman

November 30, 1923 — December 16, 2014

Barbara Bowman, of Boulder, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2014. She was 90. She was born in Los Angeles, California in 1924 to parents Edythe and Stan Price. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob Terry, who was tragically killed in World War II. She married William Hellwig in Los Angeles in 1946. They divorced in 1975. In 1981, she married Bud Bowman in La Jolla, California. Barbara was a retired administrative assistant in the California banking industry. While living in Boulder she volunteered at the American Cancer Society (being a survivor herself), Boulder Community Hospital, Safehouse and her church, First Presbyterian in Boulder. A part-time golfer and avid tennis player until she was 75, Barbara loved life, her family and the community of Boulder. She was preceded in death by Mr. Terry, Mr. Hellwig and Mr. Bowman. She is survived by two sons, Bill (Kathy) Hellwig of Colorado Springs, Brian (Bev) Hellwig of Boulder, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to TRU Community Care at 2592 Trailridge Drive East, Lafayette, CO 80026 or First Presbyterian Church at 1820 15th Street, Boulder, CO 80302 A gathering for a celebration of her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Boulder on Sunday, December 21st at 1:30pm in Oerter Hall.
