Achilles Messere

Achilles Messere, 90, of Louisville, died on Friday, June 14, 2013 at TRU Hospice Care Center in Louisville. Private family services will be held. Achilles was born on July 18, 1922 in Bagnoli del Trigno, Italy to Dominic and Rose (Zaccarini) Messere. He received his high school diploma in Chicago, Illinois. Achilles married Margaret Cavello in Chicago in June of 1946. He spent his career as a custom home builder in Wheaton, Illinois. Achilles served in the United States Army during World War II. He received a Silver Star Medal and three Bronze Battle Stars. Achilles was a former longtime resident of the Chicago and Cape Coral areas. Achilles has been in Louisville since 2009. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and husband. Achilles is survived by his daughter Rosann Messere (Robert Dressler) of Louisville, CO; brother Verino Messere of Crystal Lake, IL; and 4 grandchildren. Achilles was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; son Thomas D. Messere; and sister Novella Fauci.
